1. Acceptance of terms
Hostel Hisab ("the app", "we", "us") is a tool that helps student and bachelor messes track meals, bazar (market) expenses, deposits, balances, rooms, notices and monthly reports. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Accounts and roles
- A mess is created by an owner/manager, who invites members with a join code.
- You are responsible for keeping your phone number, email and password secure and for all activity under your account.
- The manager is responsible for the accuracy of the meals, bazar, deposits and other records they enter.
3. Subscriptions and billing
- New messes start with a free trial (currently 14 days).
- After the trial, continued use requires an active subscription. Billing is handled manually — you pay and we extend your subscription, arranged over WhatsApp.
- If a subscription expires, you can still read your existing data, but creating or editing new records may be blocked until you renew.
- Prices may change in the future; we will tell you before any change affects you.
Refunds are covered by our separate Refund Policy.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service. In particular, you will not:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose or to store unlawful content.
- Attempt to access other messes' data, break security, or disrupt the service.
- Upload images or documents you do not have the right to share.
5. Your data and content
- Your mess records belong to you. Each mess is kept separate; only members of your mess can see its data.
- Data is stored securely in the cloud. We take reasonable steps to protect it, but no online service can promise perfect security.
- We may access data only as needed to operate the service or to provide support you request.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the service running smoothly, but it is provided "as is". There may be occasional downtime for maintenance, updates or reasons beyond our control.
7. Limitation of liability
Hostel Hisab is a record-keeping tool. You are responsible for verifying the figures before settling any money between members. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 3 months.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or that are used to harm others or the service. You can stop using the app at any time and ask us to delete your mess data.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
